The Bosch Power Tools 1609B02313 Armature is a must have component of every Bosch power tool. An electrical revolving component that provides for converting electrical energy to mechanical energy for the tool cutting, drilling, or grinding mechanisms. A cylindrical coil of wire that rotates in a magnetic field is called the armature. When electrical current flows through the coil the electromagnetic coil spins causing a magnetic field to interact with an external magnetic field, energizing the coil. The power to operate the tool is transmitted through the armature, which rotates, to its output shaft.
