The Echo A056000730 Clutch Assembly is a must have for 80.7cc Echo chainsaws. The saw chain needs power from the engine to rotate, and it’s a complex mechanical system that transfers that power from the engine to the drive sprocket. Among other parts, the clutch driving assembly includes clutch drum, clutch shoes and springs. At the point the engine starts the clutch drum is initially stationary. When the engine rocks over to the next gear the clutch shoes open upward, and centrifugal force pushes the shoes against the clutch drum. The centrifugal force is released when the trigger goes off and the clutch shoes retracted disengaging the clutch and stopping the saw chain.
